We are passionate about Kuk Sool and about sharing this wonderful martial art system with our students and colleagues.  We strongly believe that what we practice in the Dojang carries over in a positive way to all aspects of our lives.  Our chief & senior instructors have all had the privilege of being taught directly by Master Sung Jin Suh, the Grandmaster’s eldest son (and some of us by the Grandmaster In Hyuk Suh himself), and we would be honored if you joined our Kuk Sool family!

MASTER (PYUNG KWAN JANG NIM) SUSAN WOOTAN, CHIEF INSTRUCTOR

Susan, now a 5th Degree Black Belt in Kuk Sool Won, knew, from the first moment of her training in 1994, that the hard & soft nature of Kuk Sool fit well with her desire to calmly learn and also put out high energy.  She has been teaching Kuk Sool at the San Francisco dojang since 1998 and brings a deep understanding of students’ differing abilities to her classes.  Sue lives in Oakland in a house that she designed and built herself.

HENRY VELASQUEZ

(SA BUM NIM) INSTRUCTOR

4TH DEGREE BLACK BELT

Henry began his training under grandmaster In Hyuk Suh, and has made Kuk Sool a part of his life ever since. He loves to teach both children and adults, and brings a lot of enthusiasm to every class.  He has a great deal of experience teaching kids, especially having raised two families of his own.

GILBERT JARDELEZA

(SA BUM NIM) INSTRUCTOR

4TH DEGREE BLACK BELT

Gilbert also began his training under grandmaster In Hyuk Suh and after a hiatus returned to train and teach at our dojang.  He approaches teaching as he approaches life: with dedication and a sense of humor.  He is observant and precise in showing the forms and techniques to our students.
